Kemi Role is the Director of Work Equity at the National Employment Law Project (NELP). In this role, Kemi guides and leads NELP’s efforts to remove barriers to employment, end employment discrimination and occupational segregation, build Black worker power; all within a framework of dismantling structural racism and centering Blackness. Kemi works closely with Black-led worker center partners across the country to co-develop policy and advocacy strategies that build Black worker power and amplify innovative strategies seeded within the community.
Kemi’s background includes developing and overseeing equity focused workforce and community engagement programs, providing direct clinical services in diverse settings, and management of a variety of research projects that have focused on cognitive attention and learning, student learning styles, and safe motherhood interventions.
