Nayantara Mehta joined NELP in May 2015, and she transitioned into her role as strategic partnerships director in December 2017.
Her work focuses on policies that improve and expand workplace protections for low-wage and immigrant workers, and on eliminating unfair barriers to employment of people with criminal records. Prior to working at NELP, she was senior counsel at Alliance for Justice and a fellow with the Women’s Policy Institute. She advised and worked on policy campaigns related to reproductive justice, immigrant rights, and many other social and economic justice issues.
