Irene Tung joined NELP in 2015.  At NELP, she conducts economic and policy research on labor markets, wage standards, subcontracting and changing employment relationships. She received her PhD at Rutgers University. While at Rutgers, she worked at the Heldrich Center for Workforce Development, analyzing data on labor market trends for unemployed workers and recent college graduates. Her dissertation research focused on the impact of financialization of the US economy on urban governance. Irene has over a decade of experience in policy advocacy, research and organizing.  From 2005-2011, she worked at Make the Road New York, where she was the Director of Organizing.
