Nonstandard Workforce
As a Staff Attorney at the National Employment Law Project, Brian primarily focuses on building power for workers who are exploited in “nontraditional” work structures, such as independent contractors, temp, and gig workers. Through litigation and policy campaigns, he aims to support workers’ efforts to democratically self-determine their material conditions.
Brian previously was a Senior Program Manager at the Policing Project at NYU School of Law, where he advocated for democratic accountability and oversight of policing. Before that, he was part of Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s Office in New Orleans, Louisiana, managing citywide interventions around violence reduction and economic inequality, including passage of a local hire ordinance for disadvantaged residents.
Brian is admitted to practice law in New York and is a proud member of the NELP Staff Association, NOLSW, UAW, Local 2320. He lives in Brooklyn, New York with his wife and two dogs, Mookie and Geno.
